Logo contest

From SmartEiffelWiki

Table of contents

Logo contest is started!

Do you feel you are an artist?

We are looking for a logo. All contributions will be kept here. We will choose the winner (don't know how yet).

Just contribute!

How to contribute: log in to the wiki (creating an account if you don't have one), upload it to the wiki, and finally edit this page to show your creation. It's probably a good idea to show a small (~150x150 pixels) thumbnail here, while keeping a vector-based or high-resolution bitmap version for further use.

image:smart_beverages.png Just to get the ball rolling, here is a sample of what not to do. The Eiffel tower theme has been totally overdone, and the reference to another language is... well, dumb.--FM

I really like Star Wars related Logos

I really like the idea to have a Star Wars related amazing logo. This is why I (User:Colnet) have made the first yoda used to launch the SmartEiffelWiki. Even if our logo is not related to Star Wars, I think it should not be too serious. Afterall, life is short... except for yoda !

This is precisely why I (User:Colonna) do not like it. Moreover it is very ugly.

Two suggestions. We need to put some text on

has to put some text on has to put some text on

Using the "puzzle" idea, here is a possible logo I just made (sorry Dominique there is an Eiffel tower) ;-) -- in three flavours (normal, with text, and with a transparent background):

Gustav the Koala

How about Gustav the Koala? We're all waiting for the rest of the world to catch up and begin to use Eiffel. Gustav is waiting for the rest of the world to catch up and begin to eat eucalyptus...

Working Horse

That is not a proud wild horse but a working horse that can hire on to heavy projects.

The last logo is not to copy poptartassassin, but only to propose an other solution. But I think the logo of poptartassassin is very well !!

A simple 3D version of Nicolas' logo:

Direct and Simple

With a great name like SmartEiffel, I prefer a logo that is simple and direct. Here is a suggestion, along with two color variations.

clean and soild

I prefer a logo that is quick to communicate, has sustainability and is easy/cost-effective to reproduce (t-shirts, books, etc.) I utilized Univers, a clear sans-serif font and knocked out the cross-stroke of the "A" to imply a few things, the branching nature of inheritance, a light bulb, a ray, upwards, a thought, and most obviously referencing the outline of the tower. "Eiffel" was bolded to communicate the stability of the language. I also left room for a registered or "tm" symbol if needed. The Smart Eiffel

... or something like this

Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 from "Get Smart"

Like the Star Wars logo, use of this one as a logo would probably have copyright implications. But I like it because it is attention-getting and somewhat startling.

do not forget this is a GNU project

I made this little picture just for fun but we could reuse the idea of using the gnu from the GNU project.

I propose this type logo with a cube shape which recalls robustness of the language :

Logo involving a swan

I think nlv's idea to include a swan in the logo was great and gave an "identity" to the project.

Simple and Elegant

This logo was designed by Adam Temple using the open source inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org/) vector drawing package.
